Sometimes it’s not a matter of spending more time in the saddle to give you your riding edge.
What can be holding you back from developing your skills could be muscular imbalances, lacking stamina or core strength that are reinforcing old habits and patterns.
The best way to be sure you can put your best foot forward as a rider is to hop off the horse and start training yourself.
In Equiletix, we give you the exercises, the routine and the direction to see the results that you want in your riding.
I believe that to be a capable, balanced and secure rider, you must have an adequate level of fitness, strength and flexibility.
Too many times have I seen riders trying their hardest to become better, move up a level or spending hundreds of dollars on lessons, expecting to see the results that they want.
But I know that there is a block between the rider you are now and the rider you want to be.
I know this personally as when I was competing in Dressage, I used to think riding was enough to keep me fit. I was trying to move up the levels but on reflection it was my lack of fitness and strength at the time that kept letting me down. Being tight and stiff in my hips lead to bouncing in my seat. Weakness in my core and upper back meant I kept falling forwards and couldn’t maintain an open chest. I didn’t have the control in my aids and body to give clear cues and improve my skills in my dressage tests, so I felt stuck, going in circles.
It wasn't until I began doing strength and flexibility training and completed my studies of Sports Science at University and Personal Training that I began to understand how much exercise was the missing link to making the breakthroughs in my riding.
I discovered that the more I worked on my strength, mobility and fitness the old postural problems were no longer an issue, plus the increase in body awareness made my riding more effective.
It is now my passion to educate equestrians of all stages of physical fitness on the benefits training can have on their riding.

Personal Coaching.
For the rider who needs tailored one-on-one coaching to work on the individual riders imbalances, injuries and progressions.
These sessions are specific to horse riders, working on strength, flexibility, stamina and balance.
